Mr. Francis
Off-Site Tutor
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from Marymount University, bringing a strong analytical and problem solving mindset to his teaching. While he spends his days consulting and training adults, he realized that the most meaningful part of his journey has been helping others learn. He often reflects on the teacher who changed the trajectory of his life and motivated him to apply to VCU. That experience inspires him to now be that person for the students he works with.
His expertise lies in supporting students across core math subjects and foundational skills, with an emphasis on helping students truly understand what they are learning instead of memorizing facts. His background in numbers, logic, and critical thinking allows him to break down concepts clearly and connect them to real world scenarios.
Fun Fact: He is a huge Kevin Durant fan.
Philosophy On Tutoring: “Understanding is greater than memorization. When students grasp why something works, not just what the answer is, they build confidence, retain knowledge longer, and are able to apply what they have learned to new situations. My goal is to help students build that deeper understanding so they can thrive in and beyond the classroom.”
