At Study Buddy, we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to excel academically, regardless of financial constraints. Our scholarship program is designed to provide essential tutoring support to students in need, particularly during the crucial summer months. If you're a student seeking assistance to overcome academic challenges, we invite you to apply for our scholarship program.

Deadline: Our scholarship operates on a rolling basis, meaning applications are reviewed as they come in.

We encourage early submissions, as spots may fill up quickly.*

Awards:

Awardees will be nominated to receive one of the following benefits as a full or partial scholarship:

  • Full and partial scholarships are available for students in Delaware for consultations and individual tutoring sessions.

  • Partial scholarships are available nationwide for Group Tutoring: Study Success Squad.

    • Estimated cost per session for families, approximately $25-50.

Tutoring Services:

  • Awardees will be selected to receive tutoring services (on designated days during specific times) for a specific number of weeks based on the time in which they are awarded.

  • Tutoring sessions can be joined from home or attended in the Study Buddy center in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware or Upper Marlboro, Maryland, with the mode determined by Study Buddy.

  • Options for group and/or individual sessions will be determined by Study Buddy based on the student's needs and session availability.

Application Process:

Step 1: Review Criteria: Familiarize yourself with the scholarship criteria outlined below.

Step 2: Gather Documents: Collect necessary documents such as financial documentation and report cards.

Step 3: Complete Application: Fill out the online application form, including personal information and financial need statement, and personal statement.

Step 4: Submit Application: Ensure all required documents are attached and submit your application.

To be considered for the scholarship program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Student Grade and Subject: Student must be in 1st-12th grade, and be looking to receive tutoring in English/Language Arts, Math, SAT Test Prep or Spanish.

  2. Financial Need: Applicant’s parent(s) or guardian(s) must briefly describe their financial need for this scholarship. Financial need will be assessed holistically by our panel of experts. The evaluation process will consider various factors on a case-by-case basis to ensure a comprehensive assessment.

  3. Attendance Commitment: Commit to attending tutoring sessions awarded. Students must have access to a working computer/laptop with a functioning microphone and camera during sessions (joined from home), in a quiet environment conducive to learning.

  4. Academic Performance: While academic excellence is valued, priority is given to students facing challenges in their studies.

  5. Personal Statement: Submit a personal statement explaining why tutoring assistance is required and how it would impact educational journey. For students in 3rd grade and below, the personal statement can be written by the parents.

  6. Report Card: Provide the most recent official report card and/or progress report from their current educational institution.

  7. Media Release: Agree to sign a media release form granting permission to use their name, image, likeness, and any related information for promotional or publicity purposes related to the scholarship program and its sponsors.

  8. Compliance with Instructions: Ensure all application materials are submitted by the specified deadline.

Important Information:

  • Students who are awarded tutoring scholarships must be available to attend all tutoring sessions awarded.

  • Missing more than two tutoring sessions may result in forfeiture of the scholarship.

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring timely attendance and communication regarding scheduling conflicts or cancellations.

*After receiving 50 applications, any subsequent applications will be placed on a waitlist. If any scholarships become available due to forfeiture or other reasons, applicants on the waitlist will be considered in the order in which their applications were received.
