Scholarship Guidelines

1. Attendance and Homework Responsibility:

  • It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure that the student completes homework by assigned deadlines and attends all scheduled tutoring sessions promptly, whether they are conducted in person or virtually.

2. Timely Arrival:

  • Students should arrive punctually for each tutoring session, whether it is in person or online, to maximize the allocated time for academic support.

3. Communication with Tutoring Coordinator:

  • Parents or guardians must maintain open communication with the tutoring coordinator regarding any scheduling conflicts, changes, or concerns related to tutoring sessions.

4. Notice of Absence or Cancellation:

  • If a student is unable to attend a scheduled tutoring session, the parent or guardian must provide a minimum of 24 hours' notice to the tutoring coordinator for cancellation or rescheduling.

5. Forfeiture of Scholarship:

  • The scholarship may be forfeited if the student misses or cancels too many tutoring sessions without valid reasons. Specifically:

    • Missing one (1) consultation session without providing a 24-hour notice for cancellation will result in forfeiture of the scholarship.

    • Missing two (2) tutoring sessions without providing a 24-hour notice for cancellation will result in forfeiture of the scholarship.

    • Cancelling or rescheduling three (3) tutoring sessions within 24 hours of the scheduled session will also result in forfeiture of the scholarship.

6. Reinstatement of Scholarship:

  • In exceptional circumstances, such as illness or family emergencies, the tutoring coordinator may consider reinstating the scholarship upon review of valid documentation and approval from the scholarship committee.

7. Accountability and Commitment:

  • By accepting the scholarship, parents or guardians acknowledge their commitment to ensuring the student's regular attendance at tutoring sessions and understanding the consequences of non-compliance with the attendance guidelines.

8. Continuous Monitoring:

  • The tutoring coordinator will monitor attendance and adherence to the guidelines regularly and communicate any concerns or issues with the parent or guardian.

9. Academic Progress and Support:

  • The ultimate goal of the scholarship program is to support the academic progress and success of the student. Regular attendance at tutoring sessions is essential for achieving this goal and maximizing the benefits of the scholarship.

10. Cooperation and Collaboration:

  • The success of the scholarship program relies on the cooperation and collaboration between the parent or guardian, the student, the tutoring coordinator, and the tutoring staff. Together, we can ensure the student receives the support they need to thrive academically.
